What happens in our sessions? How long do they take?
First there will be an initial consultation which is usually for 1 hour. This allows us to get to know each other and to discuss how hypnotherapy can help you. I explain how the brain works and why you feel the way you do and how we can get you back to enjoying life again.
Each session there after is again usually 1 hour. This session starts with positive interactions. I have a warm and nurturing approach as we discuss what has been good about your week. I help you look at ways of coping with life's challenges and how you can move forward to make positive change and to finding you again.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a type of trance. Trance is a very ordinary state of mind, and believe it or not we go in to trance numerous times a day - when we are out for walk, when we watch TV and even when we are driving. It's a little like day dreaming, letting our minds drift away to somewhere different.
During the session I use calmingmusic and gentle relaxation techniques to give youthis lovely feeling of day dreaming. This helps your mind relax and wander while I use tailored language patterns and positive affirmations to encourage feelings of confidence and motivation. While this is happening you will feel constantly in control, will be aware of your surroundings and you can bring yourself out of the trance at any time.
